We are delighted to invite you to the "Middle East Spine Society (MESS) Basic Spine Course - Module 1," which will be held at Memorial Bahçelievler Hospital on April 27-28, 2024.
This course is designed to encompass the entire spectrum of spine surgery, with the first module focusing on "Degenerative Diseases of the Spine."
Objectives: This education program aims to setup basic and advanced spine education courses in LMI Countries.
* Basic course will be 2 days course with the addition of surgical video adjuncts and saw-bone session with hands-on techniques. Basic course target residents in their 4th, 5th and 6th years and recent graduates within first 3 years of practice. A short quiz at the end will help to measure the understanding.
* Advanced course will be 2-3 days course with case discussion practices and cadaver lab. A short quiz at the end.
* Since, 2-3 days will not be enough to cover all subjects, a virtual course content may be prepared with lectures and quiz on the web site. However, such a work will take long time and needs a very hard working and enthusiastic speakers. I suggest adding those virtual content as the next step.
a) Didactic Part: Content to cover 15 min lectures with a focus on practical application/case discussion. 2 days.
b) Practical Part: Case discussion and practice on saw bones.
